The French War Memorial (Monument aux combattants des Indes françaises morts pour la patrie) is one of Puducherry’s most meaningful and peaceful historical landmarks. - Bastille Day (July 14th): Every year on the French National Day, the entire memorial is illuminated beautifully with lights. A solemn ceremony is conducted, often involving local representatives, French consulate staff, and military personnel, who gather to lay wreaths and pay tribute to the fallen.
