In 1829 a local convent initiated the Cluny Embroidery Centre to provide care to orphaned girls and unprivileged women. The building is a French style bungalow of 18th century that is generously donated by a French lady in which the center operates. Inside, the place is crowded by Catholic nuns educating women and girls to be independent and self-reliant through embroidery, crochet and stitching work.
